Reflecting on 2024: A year of transition
Here we are at the end of 2024. I can’t believe yet another year has flown by. Yet it’s time to reflect on the past twelve months, which for me have been filled with a mix of challenges and triumphs.
On the personal side, not much has changed. I’ve made steady progress with my health and fitness. While some hurdles remain, I feel pretty good overall. One highlight this year was reconnecting with some of my oldest friends. We hadn’t fallen out, but life took us in different directions. All of them are married with kids, whereas I’m not. Since we don’t live in the same city any longer, we drifted apart. I’m so glad I put effort into rebuilding these relationships.

November Journal: Eclipse of Avarice and New York
After publishing Eclipse of Avarice, the series debut of the dark urban fantasy "The Prince of Hellscape Series", SK Alexander traveled to New York.
New York, New York
Another highlight was my trip to New York. Though I found the landmarks a bit underwhelming compared to their larger-than-life representations in media, the experience itself was unforgettable. Visiting New York had been a dream of mine for decades, and it reignited my passion for travel. Who knows? Maybe someday, I’ll set a story in the Big Apple.
With just five days, we stayed mostly in Manhattan. Our hotel, conveniently located near Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, made exploring easy. We visited iconic landmarks like the World Trade Center, Times Square, Central Park, Wall Street, and the Brooklyn Bridge. We also braved the towering heights of the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and Summit One Vanderbilt. For someone with a fear of heights, it was equal parts exhilarating and nerve-wracking! One unexpected twist of the trip was getting sunburned at the NY Jets vs. Indiana Colts game.
While the landmarks were impressive, they felt smaller in person than they appeared in photos. Still, the experience of finally seeing them in real life was unforgettable.

Eclipse of Avarice
The dark urban fantasy follows Luminael Morningstar, the Antichrist, and the daemona Crowley, as they carve a new life amongst the mortals in Sin City.
Author journey
Professionally, 2024 was a fruitful year. In spring, I rebranded “Tales from the Omniverse” with a fresh logo, color palette, and a revamped website, newsletter, and social profiles. As planned, I posted more frequently and consistently on my author's website and social media. Though not everything went as planned, I consider the rebranding a success.
The extensive work on the rebranding, however, limited my time for novel writing. My original goal for 2024 was to publish the first two books in “The Prince of Hellscape Series”, but I only released Eclipse of Avarice. That said, I’m thrilled with how it turned out. I have also written about half of the second book. This next installment promises even more supernatural intrigue.

Expansion into nonfiction
However, I’m not solely working on the “Tales from the Omniverse”. Instead, I expanded into nonfiction with the “Essentials for Authorpreneurs”.
After rebranding my fiction brand in the spring, I launched the “Essentials for Authorpreneurs”. I released a booklet—a condensed preview of my upcoming nonfiction book on branding for authors. While I have already finished the first draft of the book, I decided to rewrite it to ensure it delivers maximum value for you. No doubt, I’m going to release it in 2025.
Wrapping up
Looking back, I’m content with the progress I made this year. And for that, I owe you a heartfelt “Thank you”. Whether you bought or rated my books, replied to my emails, or engaged with me on social media, I’m grateful for your support. Every kind word and shared moment inspires me to keep writing, even when the going gets tough. Sincerely, thank you.
