Looking ahead: My 2025 goals as an authorpreneur
I’m not a fan of resolutions because they often feel vague and fleeting. Instead, I set concrete goals. Here are my intentions for the year ahead.
In my last post, I reflected on 2024. Now, I’m turning to 2025 with clear goals for to guide my journey as an authorpreneur and help me achieve meaningful progress. Sharing those publicly makes me more accountable. When I write them down solely for myself, it is too easy to quietly alter or abandon them without consequence. By putting my goals out there, I commit to working toward them because I know others are aware of them.

Reflecting on 2024: A year of transition
As we near the end of the year, it is time for SK Alexander to reflect on the past twelve months. For the author, 2024 was filled with challenges and triumphs.
Essentials for Authorpreneurs
A top priority for me is to publish my initial nonfiction title—a guide designed to assist authors in crafting a powerful personal brand. My 2024 booklet, “Branding for Beginners: A Primer for Authorpreneurs”, summarizes the concepts in my forthcoming book. I finished the first draft in 2023, but it wasn't good enough. Thus, I only released a condensed version of the book. My goal is to launch the book by the end of spring or early summer.
Building on the book’s foundation, I also plan to develop an e-learning course focused on branding for authors. I’m still deciding whether to make it an in-depth, comprehensive course or break it into several focused mini-courses. Each option offers unique benefits, and I want to ensure the format suits my audience’s needs. If all goes as planned, the course (or courses) will be ready by summer or fall 2025.

Branding for beginners: a primer for authorpreneurs
To truly excel in today's literary market, you must set yourself apart in the crowded marketplace. This is where your brand comes into play. The booklet “Branding for Beginners: An Authorpreneur's Primer On Creating A Compelling Brand” will guide you through the essential steps of crafting your brand.
Tales from the Omniverse
For my speculative fiction projects, my primary goal is to publish the next installment in “The Prince of Hellscape Series”. I’ve already written about half of the first draft of the dark urban fantasy. With my nonfiction projects as my priority during the first half of the year, I aim for an early fall release. Beyond that, I aim to outline the next four books in the series, setting the stage for their development in 2026.
I also want to translate the three books of “The Empath Series” back into German. Provided all goes well, I’ll release the paranormal suspense thrillers before winter arrives.

The Empath Series
“The Empath Series” is a paranormal suspense thriller about empath Nathaniel Colt, who is thrust back into the world the former special agent thought he’d left behind—a world of danger and violence.
Content strategy
In 2024, I made progress on refining my content strategy, though it still left room for improvement. From my day job as a writer, I’m accustomed to working with detailed editorial plans for a magazine. For my self-publishing efforts, however, my approach was less structured. I had general ideas for blog posts but often scrambled for topics or improvised at the last minute. This was inefficient and time-consuming.
For 2025, I’ll create a well-thought-out editorial plan for my blog posts, social media updates, and newsletters. For that, I’ll identify core content pillars. This will allow me to streamline the entire process and free up time for writing the books and creating the courses.
Speaking of social media: In December, I set up an Instagram profile. Like my existing X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook pages, Instagram will represent both my fiction and nonfiction brands. Followers can look forward to updates on “Tales from the Omniverse” and “Essentials for Authorpreneurs”.
In addition to my presence on those platforms, you can also connect with me on Goodreads, BookBub, and Amazon for updates. (See links to my profiles here)
Outlook
Looking ahead to 2025, my primary focus is fostering meaningful connections with readers and fellow indie authors. I plan to share insights into my author journey while providing practical resources and actionable tips for aspiring writers. My goal is to grow my presence as an authorpreneur and cultivate an engaged community that thrives on shared creativity and mutual encouragement.
