November Journal: Eclipse of Avarice and New York

I celebrated the release of Eclipse of Avarice, the series debut of my dark urban fantasy "The Prince of Hellscape Series", with a short trip to New York.

I can’t believe it’s already December. It has already been three weeks since my older brother and I started our short trip to New York. Our hotel was near Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, which made exploring Manhattan convenient. We visited iconic landmarks like the World Trade Center, Times Square, Central Park, Wall Street, and the Brooklyn Bridge. We also braved the heights of the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and Summit One Vanderbilt. For someone with a fear of heights, let me tell you—it was an experience!

It was oddly surreal to get sunburned while watching the NY Jets play the Indiana Colts. I brought a ton of stuff but forgot sunscreen. Who would’ve thought I’d need it in November in NYC?

While we hit all the major spots, I have to admit I was a bit underwhelmed. These landmarks always seem larger and more impressive in photos or videos than they are in real life. That said, traveling to New York has been a dream of mine for decades, and I’m so glad I finally did it. It reignited my love for travel and provided me with firsthand experiences to draw on if I ever set a story in the Big Apple.

Release Eclipse of Avarice

Speaking of setting. As you know, “The Prince of Hellscape Series” is set in Las Vegas. While visiting Sin City would be great for my writing, it's not something I can do right now. Still, I’m proud of how the series debut, Eclipse of Avarice, turned out. Nonetheless, I’ll strive to make the upcoming books even better.

I’ve poured my heart into this dark urban fantasy series, and I’m thrilled to see how the twists, turns, and revelations resonate with you. I’d love to hear your thoughts—whether through a message on social media or a review. Your feedback has been invaluable to me over the past years and has helped me grow as a writer.
