August Journal: progress and challenges
August has been a productive month, though not without its challenges. Between catching up with friends and soaking in the summer sun, I made progress on my Tales from the Omniverse and Essentials for Authorpreneurs.
Update on Tales from the Omniverse and Essentials for Authorpreneurs
In August, I moved forward with “The Prince of Hellscape Series”. While editing the first book of my supernatural suspense thriller series, I found it necessary to alter sections of the plot and prose. Though it was difficult, these changes will improve the story and readers’ experience.
I've also decided on the book's title, which won't be the working title, A Shattered Dawn. I’ll reveal the official title and blurb later this month. I still can't write good blurbs, even though I've done it several times.
Unfortunately, the cover design is taking longer than expected. My designer and I haven’t yet found a concept for the supernatural suspense thriller. Therefore, the release date is uncertain, but I plan to publish the novel this fall. I prefer to take my time and ensure accuracy rather than rush and sacrifice quality to meet a deadline.
Besides writing my novel, I'm exploring new social media platforms to improve communication with you. Instead of randomly posting stuff, I'm planning my content to fit my fiction and nonfiction work. I’m also batching content to manage my time more effectively. Hopefully, this lets me keep up my online presence and still write.

Meeting friends and staying fit
Along with my regular walks and runs, I went hiking with friends again. This time, we opted for a shorter route of 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) compared to the longer 13 kilometers (8 miles) trek we did in July. Even though we followed the directions, we ran into some fallen trees and a ton of overgrown plants. Clearly, few people used the path, forcing us to reroute several times. It was fun, and even better, because of who I was with.
Another friend stayed with me for a few days. We unwound and enjoyed some good food together. We made burgers with Charolais and Angus beef—they were amazing! We also indulged in plenty of cake. Because I exercise regularly, I can indulge in good food without feeling guilty about gaining weight.
