Midyear check-in: Fiction goals, progress, and what’s next
Entering the last stretch of the year, it’s time to reflect on my writing goals for 2025. Switching between various projects, I’ve been making slow but steady progress.
How’s your summer going? (Or winter, if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere.) We’re nearing the end of the sunny season here in Europe. However, the weather has been quite a rollercoaster the past few weeks. Just last week, a rainstorm caught me off guard, and I ended up walking 4.5 miles in heavy rain.
And then it suddenly changed again. The skies have cleared, and I’ve been soaking up a few more rays before the season ends. Aside from my daily walks and runs, I try to fit in as many hiking trips with my friends as possible.
Of course, every hour I spend outdoors is an hour I’m not working. It's less than ideal, given the long list of tasks on my plate. Still, this feels like the right time to pause and reflect on how I’m progressing toward my 2025 goals.

Looking ahead: My 2025 goals as an authorpreneur
Sascha (SK) Alexander is not a fan of resolutions because, to him, they often feel vague and fleeting. Instead, he sets concrete goals.
General progress in 2025
At the start of the year, I planned to publish The Empath Series beyond Amazon and begin translating it into my native German. Those plans are still on my radar, but I had the books professionally re-edited. Now that the edits are complete, I’m exploring the best options for publishing on other platforms.
I devoted most of my writing time to my nonfiction guide on branding for authorpreneurs. After several rewrites and over two years of work, I’m finally putting the finishing touches on it. It just needs a few last tweaks before handing it over to my editor. Honestly, finishing it will be a tremendous relief.
In regard to speculative fiction, I focused on paranormal fiction and The Empath Series. If you’ve been following along, you’ll know we’ve covered everything from Brandon Sanderson’s favorite superpowers to my picks, omnilingualism, empathy, and most recently, aura reading.

Behind the scenes: The origin of “The Prince of Hellscape Series”
“The Prince of Hellscape Series” is a project close to SK Alexander's heart. While the concept went through several changes, the essence of the supernatural suspense thriller series has remained the same.
The Prince of Hellscape Series
Once I’m done with my nonfiction guide, I’m going to turn my attention back to book two in The Prince of Hellscape Series. This supernatural thriller is already about ninety percent done, and I’m eager to finish the final stretch and prepare it for editing. My goal is still to publish it this year. It's later than I wanted, but better late than never, right?
Expect progress updates, behind-the-scenes content, character spotlights, worldbuilding, and supernatural/urban fantasy insights in the coming months. I have plenty of ideas, I just need to decide which to tackle first.
See you then!
