It’s hard to believe that Glimmer of Destiny is already my fifth novel. But after months of writing, editing, rewriting and postponements, the supernatural thriller is now available on Amazon.

A fresh take on a familiar archetype

The first spark came when I was a teenager after watching Meet Joe Black. I loved the idea of a supernatural being living among mortals, but I couldn’t stop wondering...

What if the story were darker? What if the supernatural world wasn't beautiful and mysterious, but dangerous, brutal, and filled with ancient rivalries?

Those questions stayed with me for years.

Over the years, the characters changed, and the plotlines shifted. In fact, I altered entire story arcs. But one idea never changed: A powerful supernatural being leaves the Otherworld behind in search of a new life on Earth. That idea eventually became The Prince of Hellscape Series.

The novels’ objective

As with most series debuts, my primary goal with Eclipse of Avarice was to introduce readers to Luminael Morningstar, Crowley, and the universe they inhabit. I wanted to show you who they are, and how they ended up in Las Vegas. Because Luminael is the titular character, much of it unfolds from his perspective.

However, Eclipse of Avarice only scratches the surface of Crowley’s story. Readers saw glimpses of her personality and her relationship with Luminael, but there was much more to discover.

That changes with Glimmer of Destiny.

Characters first

Glimmer of Destiny explores the consequences of Luminael and Crowley's battle with Mammon that reverberate across Earth and the Otherworld. What happens behind the scenes? How do events on Earth affect the Otherworld? And what happens when powerful beings challenge an established order?

Those questions allowed me to pull back the curtain on the forces shaping The Prince of Hellscape Series. But as much as I enjoy world-building, the focus remains exactly where it belongs: On the characters.

The novel delves deeper into their pasts, their present circumstances, and the bond they share. Crowley, in particular, takes on a much larger role in this installment. Readers will learn more about her history, her motivations, and the experiences that shaped her into the daemona they met in Eclipse of Avarice.

Meaning of the title

The title Glimmer of Destiny hints at the novel’s central themes and the connection between the internal and external influences on the daemons. At its core, it’s a story about who Luminael and Crowley beyond the roles assigned to them by birth. It’s about their pasts, their present, and the choices that will shape what comes next. And that’s where the title comes in.

Luminael and Crowley have spent much of their lives defined by circumstances beyond their control. Their bloodlines, their positions, and the expectations placed upon them all influence who they are.

But how much control do they really have over their own destinies? What kind of future do they want to build? And who might they become once they step outside the roles they’ve been assigned?

As the story unfolds, some answers become clearer. Others only lead to more questions. And that’s intentional. Because GoD lays important groundwork for the larger narrative of The Prince of Hellscape Series and offers glimpses of where Luminael and Crowley’s path might lead.

Whether that path is truly their destiny, however...That’s another question entirely.
