Looking Ahead to 2026: Building a Stronger Authorpreneur Platform

My goal for 2026 is to grow as an authorpreneur and expand my author platform. A key part of that plan is improving my content strategy and workflow to ensure long-term growth.

After my rebranding in 2024, I refined my content strategy and went into 2025 with high expectations. As I mentioned in my last post, I reached most of my goals. I kept a steady schedule for my blog posts and emails, and showed up regularly on social media. But being consistent isn’t the entire story. You also need the right content at the right time. But quality matters, too! I’ve come a long way, but there is still room for improvement.

Essentials for Authorpreneurs Workflow

Aside from my next book project, my focus will remain on the two core pillars of my author platform: my blog and, in particular, my email marketing.

Clearly defining these content pillars will help streamline my process and protect my most valuable resource: writing time. I’ve already outlined the topics for upcoming blog posts and emails. Some topics will stand alone, but most will belong to a series. Branding and platform building remain central, with content strategy and workflow—two highly requested topics from subscribers—taking center stage in 2026.

Essentials for Authorpreneurs: Other Ventures

Building on the foundation of Branding for Authorpreneurs, I’m considering creating an e-learning course on author branding. It’s not a new idea—it's been on my list since I started my author journey. However, due to delays in publishing the guide, I haven’t had time to explore this venture yet.

Aside from feasibility, I’m considering whether to offer one comprehensive course or several focused mini-courses. Both formats have their benefits and drawbacks, and both would serve you well. Before I decide, I’ll research the endeavor and the market.

Essentials for Authorpreneurs: My next book project

I haven’t made a final decision yet about which book to write next. The next logical step in an author's journey after developing their author branding is to write their business plan. Once they’ve established their brand's story, mission, vision, and target audience, they can use that information to complete your business plan.

Another strong contender is a guide focused on building a platform. Having already covered aspects of this topic in several blog posts and in Branding for Authorpreneurs, expanding on it to create a full guide feels like an organic next step.

I considered writing both. However, given my plans to publish at least one speculative fiction novel and develop an e-course, I doubt I’ll have time to release both guides in 2026. My current plan is to publish one guide and continue developing the other so that it's ready for release in early 2027.

Essentials for Authorpreneurs: Goals for 2026 Wrap-up

While my blog and email marketing will remain my focus, I also want to expand my reach across all my platforms and genuinely connect with my community. My goal is simple: to make every interaction with you educational, helpful, and enjoyable. And since “interaction” goes both ways, I’d love to get to know you better, too.
